Nars blush in Orgasm

Nars Orgasm blush 21.50£ / Ganni knit
Described as "Peachy pink with golden shimmer" I was kind of hesitant when I first discovered this blush; it really did look wayyy too peachy and shimmery for me online. I have fair/pale skin (NC15 for reference) and corals and peachy colours tend look orange on me, therefore I tend to avoid them.
But with a light hand the famous Orgasm blush works fine with me. It really does wonders on the cheeks. I apply it with a big stippling brush for a minimum controlled amount of product.
Surprisingly I quite like the golden shimmer. I thought it would look way too golden and noticeable but it blended smoothly and just gave a beautiful sheer highlight (and makes it look glorious in the pan!)
The pink tones mostly show up on me and it's definitely buildable. The color lasts all day and doesn't break me out.

I own the colour Sin as well and Nars blushes are great and highly recommended! I can't wait to get more colours, but due to the price I think they're gonna be considered a treat or reward every once in awhile.

Do you have the Orgasm blush and what do you think of it?

Topshop Velvet Lips in Velveteen Ribbon

Topshop Velvet Lips in Velveteen Ribbon £10.00
Reading through multiple beauty blogs I discovered Topshop's Velvet Lips a couple months ago and felt a need to try it out. At first I was a little scared since they weren't online and Topshop in Denmark doesn't get all of their beauty stuff - but I found it in store!

The packaging is nice; the glass tube and the frosty top makes it very sleek-looking and pretty. I like the gloss-like applicator since it applies the product a lot more precise which is necessary with this one since it can (MIGHT) get a little tricky.
The product itself is kind of weird for me. I absolutely love the look and finish. The color is a little off on the picture (sorry), it is less blue toned in real life. With two applications you get the sexiest dark burgundy lips that will stay matte FOREVER. The finish is so soft and velvety, just like the name. One coat works fine as well but you have to work quickly. Once it's dry it's very very very dry.
It lasts forever as well - the staying power is insane, I have never experienced anything like it. It's almost impossible to remove which can be annoying when you actually want it off. I'm serious, it won't come off.
Touching up during a night out can be a little difficult; I would definitely define it as drink-proof but when drinking and talking and what else happens it does tend to wear off at the center, which can make it look like you just terribly outlined your lips, and because of the dry, matte finish, when laying more over it, the parts with products left will just get darker and yeah - just be careful.

Overall it is a nice lip product however I'm not a fan of it's stubbornness while removing.

Sunday music

Lazy sunday demands good music. At least for me. I've loved music all my life, but due to school, work, etc. I feel like I'm lacking on discovering of new music.

BUT a couple of weeks ago I jumped on the band wagon and started loving The 1975. I feel a bit late on this. However their debut album is absolutely fantastic and they deserve all the hype. I just saw on Matt Healy's instagram that they're shooting a video for the song 'Settle Down' very soon which makes me incredibly happy, 'Settle Down' is one of the best ones on the album.
I saw their iTunes Festival performance a couple days ago on YouTube and I fell in love even harder. They are worth checking out if you like me haven't given them a go yet. I've heard they're amazing live so I'm hoping they'll make their way around Copenhagen soon.

I've been a solid Beyoncé-girl for as long as I can remember. There's something about her that makes me feel so good about myself like I can do anything. To me she stands for all the power, confidence and beauty that inspires me so much. She's incredible. Her new album made my life worth living in cold and busy december, but the last week or so I've been obsessed with the track 'Schoolin' Life' from the deluxe edition of 4. She is magic.

Let's talk about her husband. Hip hop and rap is without doubt my guilty pleasure, just like Beyonce I often find it oddly empowering. 'Fuck With Me You Know I Got It' takes me places and I instantly get into beast-mode (I can't believe I just said that). I am listening to it as I'm writing this and it always make difficult essay-writing a lot easier. The instrumental is sick.
However I wasn't that impressed with the MCHG album, I do prefer his older stuff.

I feel like I should expand my musical horizon, can you guys recommend something for me to listen to?

Winter survival kit

Over the years I have experienced plenty of effects from the cold winter months; everything from frizzy ends to flaky and dry, stressed skin. Because I live in Denmark I'm quite used to this kind of weather, therefore I'm going to share my personal tips on how to make it through the winter.

I suffer from extremely oily skin and during the winter I get flaky, red and dry patches on my forehead and cheeks - not very pretty. I prefer moisturizers that keep my skin hydrated without making it produce more oil and while in Paris this fall I fell in love with Embryolisse and their Lait-Crème Concentré. The French are famous for their amazing pharmacy brands and Embryolisse is no different; it has saved my skin from the colder weather since October. The Lait-Crème Concentré is for all skin types (which I normally wouldn't buy because usually those kinds of products break me out) but this light-textured moisturizer has really helped me and my seasonal dehydrated skin. Definitely worth buying.

Although Embryolisse has helped me a lot my skin still acts up occasionally. After longs days of school, work or harsh weather I like to calm my skin down with a hydrating mask and Origins Drink Up Intensive really does the job. It's one of those overnight products where you apply the mask before going to bed and sleep with it on. It's amazing. I usually use this as the final step in a pamper evening and my skin feels relaxed and hydrated when I wake up.

The Eight Hour Cream by Elizabeth Arden is a classic. It's the best multi-use product I've ever had; chapped lips, dry elbows, knuckles and heels, nail treatment, highlighter on cheekbones etc.. The tube lasts a long time since a little goes a long way with this product - overusing as a highlighter for example can get a little messy. However the scent's very strong and you either love or hate it. I chose to live with it because I haven't found anything that could compare to Eight Hour and it's endless possibilities.

For my hands I prefer hand balms over creams and lotions mainly because I hate the feeling of greasy and sticky hands. I was quite surprised when I discovered the Hand Balm from & Other Stories since I've never really been a fan of H&M's beauty selection. But this hand treatment really changed my mind. It has the most mesmerizing citrus scent and leaves the hands feeling hydrated and smooth without the greasy feel. In general I think their beauty products are worth checking out. Plus the packaging is clean and stylish, giving the products a more exclusive look.

Having thick, bushy and curly hair is terrible during the winter time. Mine gets super dry and really frizzy (which it is all year round but especially in the winter) due to the rain and wind and I've been searching for a product to make it calm down. Moroccan Oil is the bomb. It's a leave-in oil to use after showering that leaves your hair looking healthy and shiny. It's a personal favorite. I originally bought the regular one but found it a little heavy at the time so I switched to the light version for not-as-thick-hair and it's the same beautiful curls I get from it. I use it everyday topping with another curling spray, just to separate the curls more, but on good days I'll just use the Moroccan Oil alone. It's a wonder for curly hair!

I hope you enjoyed this post!
